If you're listening to radio interviews about Getting a Grip on Your Money, you're probably looking for ideas to simplify your life and refocus on the things that really count. Here are just a few hints about putting money in its proper place -- which is not first in anybody's life! Jesus told us, "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." (Matthew 6:33, NIV).

Remember, this is about changing attitudes more than changing our budgets. But how do we start to change our attitude? My recommendation is to spend some time in prayer and then begin to make small improvements in your budget. Here are some things that have helped me:

The GI Ratio: How a higher ratio of groceries to information may help.

Raising financially responsible kids: Something every parent would want, but how to start?

Save on cable! Is there a way to put TV in its place?

Save on wireless! Spend less money on wireless phone and be safer at the same time. (Resolve that you won't talk when driving, and then get a wireless plan that rewards you for your reduced minutes.)

Save on long distance! Keep in touch without spending a fortune. It gets easier all the time.
